What the City Clerk does
The City Clerk serves as Recording Secretary to the City Council, the BRA, DDA and TIFA Board, the Planning Commission, and the Parks and Trees Commission. The Clerk plans and oversees elections for the City of Plainwell, including voter registration and supplying Voter ID cards. The Clerk maintains City records, documents and ordinances, administers oaths of office and serves as official custodian of the City Seal. The Clerk assists with the issuance of various municipal permits and licenses.
JoAnn Leonard is also the City’s FOIA Coordinator for general City records, and takes applications for the City’s boards and commissions.
